Kacey Musgraves fans will be happy about this news. The country superstar is planning her very own Christmas special for Amazon. She made the announcement in a series of Instagram posts earlier this week. The Kacey Musgraves Christmas special is expected to be a star-studded event.

It’s no surprise that the Golden Hour singer is interested in doing a Christmas special. Back in 2016, she released her first-ever Christmas album entitled, A Very Kacey Christmas. The album took her the entire summer to record. Kacey Musgraves had to force herself to get into the Christmas spirit when everyone else was busy celebrating the Fourth of the July. Now she wants to help get her fans into the holiday spirit by enlisting some of her famous friends.

The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show will premiere on Amazon Prime on Nov. 29. The Christmas special will be narrated by Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy. Other celebrity guests include Camila Cabello, Kendall Jenner, James Corden, Lana Del Rey, Leon Bridges and Troye Sivan. Kacey Musgraves revealed that this Christmas special is unlike anything else she ever worked on before, and that’s including her Christmas album.

Kacey Musgraves came up with the concept in the middle of the night over a year ago. Isn’t that when we all come up with our best ideas? In a press release, she said that this little concept grew into something that she’s “proud of.” Kacey made sure to enlist the help of the best comedic and musical talent. Non-musical guests include Radio City Rockettes and Musgraves’ very own grandmother.

What was the inspiration for Kacey Musgraves’ Christmas Show? Simple. It was her very own Christmas album. She wanted to finally bring it to life and perform some of her favorite songs. She visualized exactly how she wanted her album to play out on television. Kacey calls it a “fresh take on a classic format.” It’s the perfect holiday special for millennials since it’s “heartfelt” and filled with “nostalgia.”

But it’s not just going to feature songs from her Christmas album. Musgraves also plans to debut a new Christmas song titled “Glittery” featuring Sivan. Musgraves is best known for her hit songs “Follow Your Arrow,” “Rainbow,” and “Space, Cowboy.”
