Matthew Perry recently wrote a memoir. As a result, the Friends star promptly started an interview blitz. But revelations from Matthew’s memoir sparked a backlash. And that featured his unexpected attack on The Matrix actor Keanu Reeves.

Matthew Perry – Blasts Keanu Reeves In Memoir

Keanu Reeves has become known for his acting skills in films and charm in interviews. But as an enemy of Friends star Matthew Perry? Not at all. As a result, Reeves reacted with shock when Matthew blasted him in his memoir, shared an insider via Page Six.

For instance, Perry questioned why Keanu “walks among us.” And learning about the nasty comments, Reeves “thought the comments came out of left field,” revealed the source. As a result, Matthew experienced a backlash to his rude remarks about The Matrix star.

And Jennifer Aniston’s Friends co-star even felt forced to apologize after his comments backfired. The 53-year-old memoir author offered a regretful statement about his slams of Reeves, 58, in his book. The apology occurred just before the release of his memoir Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing.

Keanu Reeves – Can’t Figure Out Matthew Perry’s Attacks

But even as The Matrix actor tried to understand why Perry would attack him multiple times in his memoir, Matthew came up with a baffling justification. And he called himself a serious fan of Keanu. As to why slam the successful actor?

“I’m actually a big fan of Keanu,” insisted Perry. But to write his memoir, he “just chose a random name, my mistake,” claimed Perry. However, rather than explain why that supposedly random name happened to represent a famous actor, Matthew didn’t give an explanation. And instead, the Friends alum then added a twist by saying he should have used his own name.

Perry’s memoir describes working with Keanu’s best friend River Phoenix on A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. After portraying friends in the film, River and Matthew became pals off the set. However, the other actor tragically passed away of a drug overdose in 1993 at age 23.

And in his memoir, Perry asked, “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?” Later, he threw shade at Reeves again. And he recalled getting so angry about Chris Farley’s deadly overdose in 1997 that he “punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out. Keanu Reeves walks among us,” added the Friends alum.

However, Matthew never explained his apparent obsession with Keanu Reeves. And so we want to know what you think.
