Does Kody Brown ever think before he speaks? Based on the tell-all episodes, it seems that the Sister Wives patriarch just blurts out whatever happens to occur to him. And that got embarrassing when Kody admitted the real reason why he chose to marry Christine Brown. His confession took place during part 2 of Sister Wives: One-on-One special, noted Us magazine.

As a result of his look back at his past, the Sister Wives patriarch admitted that he didn’t know how to establish a healthy plural marriage. And he recalled, “We’re establishing a family that I really don’t know how to establish.” But Kody also confessed that he felt his relationship with his first wife Meri Brown felt like a struggle from the very beginning.

The 53-year-old Sister Wives patriarch legally tied the knot with Meri in 1990. And when he spiritually married Janelle Brown in 1993, he saw it as a “blessing of dilution.” However, at first Kody thought that he and Janelle could enjoy “something special.” But then he felt that he had just brought “more people into a problem.”

Kody Brown – Married Church ‘Royalty’ Christine Brown To Look ‘Cool’

However, the Sister Wives patriarch saved his most aggressive comments for Christine. She and Kody spiritually married in 1994. And Kody admitted that love didn’t provide the motivation for him to tie the knot with Christine.

Because as the Sister Wives patriarch looks back, he claims that Christine took the initiative. (Kody and Christine shared in November 2021 that they had agreed to split after a marriage of more than 25 years). And Kody added, “Christine basically asked to be in our family. I felt a lot of pressure.”

However, then the Sister Wives patriarch saw the advantages of marrying Christine. And he explained, “Christine … she was basically royalty in our church.” As a result, Kody decided to marry her in order to look “cool.” But he now admits, “I look back and it wasn’t fair for me to go, ‘Oh, this will make me cool in our church.’”

And when host Sukanya Krishnan questioned if Kody tied the knot to satisfy his ego, he dropped a bombshell. Not holding back, the Sister Wives patriarch declared, “I was a polygamist.” And he added, “It’s all ego, baby!”
