Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Jack And Jennifer’s Goodbye, Starting Over With A Competitor Paper?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and rumors tease that when Jack and Jennifer Deveraux (Matthew Ashford, Cady McClain) say goodbye and leave Salem, they’ll have a new start. That new start might be in more ways than one, as they could start a competitor paper to the Salem Spectator.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Salem Spectator Is The Salacious Snooper

Thanks to Xander Cook, (Paul Telfer) Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’ Brien) and especially to Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) the Salem Spectator has turned into the Salacious Snooper! The paper Jack built practically from scratch and worked so hard to make a reputable publication is under its new management, a scandal sheet. Jack doesn’t just want to retire and waste away into oblivion and neither does Jennifer, they are too young to just be a couple of old has-beens.

Since Jack wasn’t keen on his remaining daughter’s blackmail he and Jennifer talk about it and the best comeuppance is to start a competing paper. They can start it in New York and branch out to Salem long distance, rebuilding it there when they eventually return-they won’t be gone permanently, their grandkids are in Salem.

DOOL Spoilers – The People Of Salem Aren’t Happy With The New Regime

Jack keeps in touch with everyone when they leave, and he finds the people of Salem aren’t happy with the new regime at the Salem Spectator. Leo’s gossip column is merciless and if something isn’t quite a scandal, he’ll turn it into one, and slander suits are already in the making. The sleazier elements of Salem are quite interested in the gossip fodder about the established residents, thinking now they can blackmail people over their much exaggerated mistakes. Jack feels terrible but what else could he do – Gwen was going to press charges for Jennifer running her over when high, she had him over a barrel.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Jack Deveraux Kept The Salem Spectator Files

Gwen didn’t know that when Jack passed the paper over to her that he kept the old Salem Spectator files, they were digitized from back when they were still on microfilm. He has a whole library of them that went from microfilm to floppy disk to flash drive and then to the cloud; he starts his new paper with a rebuttal column. Everything slanderous or salacious that Leo digs up, especially from the past, Jack can call up the original story if published and use it to rebut it with correct information.

People who are interested in truth instead of lies, and those who remember the way things really happened are on board with Jack. He and Jennifer are quickly starting a readymade job and a new paper to run when they return home.
