Jane Fonda Gives Her Best Advice On How To Get Over A Break-Up

If there’s anyone that you want to be getting your love and relationship advice from, it’s most definitely Jane Fonda. The Hollywood actress, who recently starred in the hit movie 80 For Brady, has shared her one piece of advice that she has to give to anyone who might be going through a brutal break up. Jane Fonda – Gives Her Best Advice On How To Get Over A Break-Up

While speaking to You magazine, Jane said that the best thing you can do is simply “snap out of it.” She said, “For anyone going through a painful break-up, let me give you a piece of advice my therapist gave me: put a rubber band around your wrist, and every time you feel like sticking a knife into the expletive, snap it hard.”

The actress added, “It snaps you out of it – it works.”

And while Jane has certainly seen her fair share of marriages, break ups, make ups, and everything else, if there’s one regret that she’s held on to over the years, it’s that she wasn’t more present as a mother while her children were growing up. The actress has two daughters, Vanessa Vadim, 54, and Mary Hayden, 55, and a son named Troy Hayden, 48.

Jane Fonda – Is Making Up For Lost Time

Jane said, “I was not the kind of mother I wish I had been. I know what it’s supposed to be now, so I”m trying to show up now. I have great, great children—talented, smart. And I just didn’t know how to do it.”

That said though, Jane is still trying to make up for lost time. She said, “I’ve studied parenting, and I know what it’s supposed to be now. I didn’t know then. So I’m trying to show up now.”

She continued, “But you can learn, so I studied how to be a parent. It’s never too late. I am trying to make up for what I didn’t know before. When I die, I want my family to be around me. I want them to love me, and I have to earn that. I’m still working at it.”
