Coronation Street: Toyah Gets Kidnap Following Brief Hiatus

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) will find herself in a horrific ordeal following her on-screen absence. New filming photos show that she’s been kidnapped, bound, and gagged.

Fans may recall that Toyah has been absent on screen for two months. She returned after her brief hiatus last May 19 and attended a surprise birthday party at the Bistro. In upcoming scenes, Toyah gets snatched by a white van and has bruises on her face. She tries to scream and escape but to no avail.

Other details about the scene are being kept under wraps. For now, fans can only hope that she manages to survive it.

In a previous interview last year, Georgia Taylor said that she hopes her alter ego gets to have a child. She may adopt a child and take care of it like it was her own.

“The argument against that, I guess, is that I’ve always said we have a responsibility in reflecting all aspects of society, to show a childless woman and to show that a childless woman can be happy, that’s something I feel quite strongly about myself,” she said.

“So it might be that she finds fulfillment and joy in something else. However, having said that, she is naturally very maternal and caring so I understand why her fostering a child or adopting a child seems like the obvious fit,” she added.

Elsewhere, Ellie Leach has opened up about her character’s exit from the iconic Cobbles. The actress is leaving the show after 12 years of playing Faye Windass. Her alter ego left Weatherfield with her ex-boyfriend and daughter. The actress shared a short but sweet farewell video on her Instagram account.

“Just want to say a massive, massive thank you to everyone who has watched Corrie over the past 12 years and supported me,” she said.

The actress also told Daily Star that she took some of Faye’s clothes, including a pair of Faye’s pajamas and a sparkly green stick-on nail.
