John Stamos Talks Ryan Gosling And Disney

Who told you adults aren’t supposed to love Disney as well as children do? Not Ryan Gosling that’s who. Not only is the “Barbie” star a lover of all things Disney, he has also opened John Stamos’ mind on how to shamelessly embrace the wholesome feeling of Disney. Here’s what Stamos has to say about their interaction.

John Stamos Recalls Conversation With Ryan Gosling That Changed His Perspective On Being A Grown Disney Fan

There’s nothing wrong with being a Disney fanatic even as a grown-up, and fortunately, Stamos now agrees. Speaking with Keke Palmer on her podcast, “Baby, this is Keke Palmer,” the “Full House” alum revealed that he had tried hard to shed his fascination with Disney six or seven years ago so as not to lose his credibility as a serious actor.

He recalled thinking, “Who’s gonna take me seriously with the Mickey Mouse stuff. I gotta sort of distance myself from it.”

However, when he and Gosling realized they shared a love for Disney – and they’re both adults – Stamos’ mind opened to the possibility that he could proudly embrace his love of it.

“He’s like, ‘You’re a Disney fan?’ I go, ‘Yeah,’” Stamos said of their conversation. “He goes, ‘I’m obsessed. I’m a Disney adult. I go there by myself. I wear headphones … I go on rides, I have a mixtape.’”

“I go, ‘Yeah, me too. I’m a Disney guy too,’” he added. “So that kind of turned the corner for me.”

Since then, you won’t find Stamos shying away from praising the joy that Disney can give, as he further describes the feeling, saying, “When you go through those gates, the rest of the world goes away.”

John Stamos Grew Up Near Disneyland In Orange County

The actor, who grew up near Disneyland in Orange County, credited the Magic Kingdom for inspiring his artistry and his philosophical views as a human. “It’s just so full of love and optimism and happiness,” he added. “When you go through the turnstile … everything else goes away.”
