General Hospital Spoilers: Lexi Ainsworth Hints Joining Another Soap

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there may be a sister feud on the horizon between Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Kristina Davis-Corinthos, now played by actress Kate Mansi.

Mansi stepped into the role the week of May 22nd, and past portrayer, Lexi Ainsworth recently had a chat with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about her exit from the soap.

Lexi tells SOD it was “hard” to say goodbye to this chapter of her life, and it’s certainly been bittersweet, as (GH) was a big part of her life. Ainsworth was 16 when she started the soap, and she notes that her family on the show is like her second family, as she “grew up” on the set.

Lexi tells SOD that she’s sad she won’t be working with them on the daytime drama anymore, but she knows they’ll stay in touch, and she hopes to work with them again down the line.

During her interview with SOD, Ainsworth revealed that she recently auditioned for the Young and the Restless (Y&R). She notes that she also auditioned for the soap last year when they were looking for a new Summer Newman (Alison Lanier).

Lexi states there are a lot of people on the soap whom she worked with on GH, that she’d love to work with again, like Brytni Sarpy (ex-Valerie Spencer, Y&R’s Elena Dawson), Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Margaux Dawson, Y&R’s Chloe Fisher), and Jason Thompson (ex-Patrick Drake, Y&R’s Billy Abbott).

With that being said, right now, Lexi is focused on behind-the-camera projects. Last year, she began her own production company and is looking forward to telling her own stories. Still, she also tells SOD that was recently overwhelmed in the “best way” by the fan support she’s received since her GH exit was announced.
