For months, there have been rumors of a division between the two brothers. Although neither has spoken about it or even confirmed there is a rift, people always want to know the reasons behind troubled relationships.

Prince William’s ‘Bullying Attitude’

The story ran in the Monday edition of the Times of London. It claimed that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle felt “pushed away” by William’s “bullying attitude.” It went on to blame William not being friendly to Meghan as the reason for the rocky relationship between the brothers.

To be clear, neither William or Harry has confirmed there is an issue between them and the “royal rift” remains a rumor until the parties directly involved say otherwise.

Joint Statement Denying Bullying Claims

To address these claims on a united front, spokespeople for both parties released a joint statement calling the report a “false story” and that the publication was speculating. They added that as brothers, they care deeply for one another.

“Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge. For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Announcement

Harry and Meghan’s announcement that they want to step away from their senior royal duties and move part-time to Canada was tied in with the report. The article assumed there was a connection.

However, it was made clear by the Royal Family that there had been conversations about the couple’s plans for weeks. It wasn’t the decision itself that caused “hurt” and “disappointment.” Rather, it was the timing because they were asked not to say anything yet.

However, there are no negative feelings and Queen Elizabeth issued her own statement expressing she is “very supportive” of their decision.
