Shantel VanSanten, 37, responded on June 5 to Hallmark actor Victor Webster’s court filing for dissolution of marriage. According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, VanSanten cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
VanSanten agreed with Webster’s original date of separation of January 10, confirming they share no children. In her filing, the FBI actress noted, “The parties are in mediation and any issues regarding spousal support will be determined in mediation.”
Moreover, Shantel acknowledged that she and Webster, 50, still need to decide on the allocation of their shared assets. The filing read, “The determination and distribution of community and quasi-community property to be determined in mediation.” Meanwhile, the actress’s response was originally signed on June 1 but was only filed with the Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles on Monday this week.
About Webster and VanSanten’s romance
VanSanten and Webster co-starred in the 2017 Hallmark Channel movie, Love Blossoms, where the title turned out to be prophetic. After dating for four years, VanSanten and Webster got engaged in February 2021, and were married in August 2021 at Pasadena City Hall.
Back in July 2022, the American Murderer star told Brides.com that when her grandfather unexpectedly passed away on Father’s Day, the heartbreak was “unbearable.” Shantel said she had been planning on him walking her down the aisle in Minnesota, adding:
In the midst of my grief, I looked at Victor and said I wanted to do a spontaneous civil ceremony on my grandparents’ wedding date, August 9. The idea of my grandparents being reunited and watching over our ceremony from above gave me some peace. They were married for 63 years, had such a special, deep love. They were the example to me of how love is a choice and takes work. It wasn’t perfect, but their love was always pure.
Besides the civil ceremony, the couple celebrated their union with two additional ceremonies in October 2021. One was held in Los Angeles, while the second was in Minnesota. Meanwhile, Canadian native Webster wrote of his wife on Instagram during a romantic getaway. Sharing a photo of them kissing, his caption reads, “You never know what you’ll catch when you cast your net. Think I’ll keep this one. #Azulik.”
After what was clearly a loving relationship, it is sad to see that Webster and VanSanten are now officially divorcing.
