British royal family news shows that Meghan Markle needs a drastic PR turnaround if she is to be considered a sellable asset in Hollywood. To date her biggest role, Princess Harry, was a flop. Next to that she played Rachel Zane in the basic cable drama Suits.

Oh wait, the Duchess of Sussex was the voice of a Disney elephant after she and Harry begged Robert Iger for a job while walking a red carpet. Beyonce looked mortified.

But much has been made of Meghan signing with talent agency WME, and they have a big job on their hands. Have they just launched the first test rocket in a bid to make Meghan relevant?

Could be as its being reported that she “is reportedly set to return to her acting career with a role in a huge Hollywood movie.”

According to the Express, “Meghan is rumored to be linked to an £80 million Netflix project linked to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.” That’s a lot of linking and not a lot of facting.

What is the deal here? Apparently “Meghan could be taking on the lead role in a sequel to The Bodyguard.”

The original was released in 1992 with the late Whitney Houston the singing diva needing to be guarded by Kevin Costner.

How does Meghna’s late MIL fit into the picture? It’s alleged that 30 years ago Princess Diana was offered the role played by Houston. Really.

Kevin Costner has some time on his hands now that he’s been booted off of Yellowstone and he has reportedly “pitched the idea of a follow up, which could see Meghan star in the production.”

According to Marie Claire, a source told New Idea magazine: “The only thing Kevin loves more than an underdog like Meghan is a box office hit.” They do have controversy in common. But, Houston was a beloved pop singer and Meghan is a hugely unpopular entity.

We don’t know if she can sing but we do know she’s fluent in Spanish, so maybe a Spanish language version of The Bodyguard, like Steven Spielberg did with West Side Story? That was a flop? Never mind.

Anyway, the outlet reports that Costner talked about a re-do way back in 2012, which makes this whopper even more ridiculous. So far this rumor is just that. And maybe a way for Meghan’s talent agency to test the waters on her viability as a client. As soon as we know more we will keep you updated.
