Jill Wagner opens up about accepting imperfections in life
Former Hallmark actress Jill Wagner jumped ship to Great American Family in December 2021. She had starred in a number of Hallmark movies, but more recently, Jill is starring in Taylor Sheridan’s latest hit, Lioness, and previously appeared in the ABC game show, Wipeout.
While the actress is a self-described “control freak,” Jill is currently working on that. She opened up on a recent episode in the Farm and Family with Jill Wagner video series for Great American Community.
Wagner says she is working to get better at “accepting the imperfections in life,” saying:
I’ve been trying to work on that and to understand that there’s so much beauty in the moments that aren’t planned… and I’m a planner.
I can think back in my life, there’s so many moments that kind of were planned and went wrong.
Accepting the unexpected
In the video, Wagner recalled the moment she walked down the aisle at her wedding. She explained that her veil got caught on the brick floor, causing her head to keep jerking back at an awkward angle.
At first, those attending her wedding wondered why she was walking so oddly, but then they became concerned.
“I think everybody was a little confused like ‘What is she doing?’ And my dad was like, ‘Are you okay? You want to keep going?’” she said. “But in that moment, it made everybody laugh.”
Wagner now finds that incident to be particularly inspiring because it reminds her that nothing is perfect, but real beauty can be found in such moments. The Lioness star said:
It broke it back down to who I am as a person, which is totally flawed and a mess… So it was very fitting.
I think there’s so many moments like that in our life, and if we can just stop and accept the moment and find the good in it, and a lot of times you won’t see the good until after it’s over.
Wagner said it might not have been the walk-down-the-aisle moment she dreamed of as a little girl. However, the memory of it made that moment for her.
About Great American Community videos
Great American Family was launched in competition with Hallmark Channel as another feel-good network. Meanwhile, Great American Community videos are brief clips that give an inside look at the lives of some of the network’s biggest stars.
The videos also act as inspiration and encouragement for viewers. Meanwhile, Jill isn’t the only star doing this, as Danica McKellar is also making a series of videos. Watch Wagner’s latest episode here.
