Fans of The Golden Bachelor feel upset over how producers treat the contestants. For instance, the arrangements for bedtime resulted in slams on social media.

And the backlash began when viewers watched the women looking at their sleeping arrangements, noted the Sun.

Most contestants ended up in rooms with single beds and bunk beds. But Theresa, 70, confessed she would prefer a closet to a bunk bed. And Sandra, 75, complained about finding herself left with only a bunk bed.

But when told she needed to pick the top bunk or the bottom bunk, Sandra explained her complaints. “I didn’t want the top. I’ve had my knees replaced. That’s a lot of climbing,” she pointed out. “So, I’m going to be underneath, which puts me three steps closer to the bathroom.”

However, fans called the sleeping arrangements “torture.” And many felt that producers deliberately set up the bunk bed obstacle course to cause problems for the women. For instance, one wrote, “You literally had YEARS to plan for a #GoldenBachelor and episode 2 you put the women in bunkbeds and have the 70 year old bachelor drive down the highway without headlights?”

The reference to driving down the highway without headlines refers to The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner taking Theresa out on the season’s first date. But the 72-year-old then realized he needed to drive in the dark without headlights. And fans felt angry at seeing that producers gave Turner a car without working headlights.

“I know the insurance rates for The Golden Bachelor are going up after they see them making 70 yr old women climb in and out of bunk beds and Gerry driving at night on LA freeways. #TheGoldenBachelor,” wrote one fan on social media. And another asked, “Why didn’t they hire a driver? So wrong!”

But the most anger seemed to stem from those bunk beds. For example, one fan asked, “Now what the hell is the golden bachelor doing making this 60-80yo women sleeping on d**n bunk beds? nah this is torture, evil.” And another noted, “My mom yelled at the television ‘SHE HAD TWO KNEE REPLACEMENTS. DON’T MAKE HER DO THAT’ because like WHY would they have done that?!”

Some even warned producers that a dangerous fall could result. For instance, one viewer scolded, “Someone might break a hip!” And others felt baffled. “Why are they treating them so poorly?? Bunk beds? Convertible on the highway at night?? Can’t even hire them a driver smh #GoldenBachelor,” one fan noted. “SO WRONG!”
