Andy Cohen Wants Meghan Markle On Real Housewives After Rejecting Her For Talk Show

Andy Cohen sees Meghan Markle as an ideal Real Housewives star. But the Duchess of Sussex might need to check with her hubby Prince Harry (known informally as the Duke Of Desiring Privacy) about featuring their family in the reality TV series.

Andy Cohen reflected on future Real Housewives spin-offs at the Bravo fan convention known as BravoCon this year. And in a BravoCon 2023 panel, the Watch What Happens Live host shared his desire to persuade the Duchess of Sussex to join an all-new Real Housewives spin-off via People.

However, Andy didn’t share any plans to create a new franchise such as the Real Housewives Of Santa Barbara to make that possible. But the 55-year-old father of two did admit, “If we can get Meghan Markle, that would be interesting.

Meghan, 42, and hubby Prince Harry famously exited life in England with the royal family for a mansion in Santa Barbara, California. But the closest existing franchise to Meghan’s home involves the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

The current 11 franchises in the United States range from Real Housewives Of Orange County to Real Housewives Of New York City. And the Real Housewives Of Atlanta as well as the Real Housewives Of New Jersey round out the list of most popular reality TV shows. However, Real Housewives has expanded overseas, with 21 international versions.

Meanwhile, Meghan thus far has starred famously as Rachel Zane on Suits. And after exiting the world of scripted TV, the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry inked a pact with Netflix to produce several series. For instance, Netflix recently released the documentary series Heart of Invictus.

But beyond Meghan, Andy has considered casting Lindsay Lohan. And he specifically wanted her for the Real Housewives of Dubai. But that didn’t happen. However, Andy has created a wish list of his dream team for the Real Housewives. And that includes (drum roll please) Vanessa Bryant, Chrissy Teigen, Julia Fox, Jana Kramer and Ayda Field Williams.

But the Watch What Happens Live host has admitted that he once turned down the chance to invite Meghan Markle to become a guest on his talk show prior to her marriage to Prince Harry. And amid her role on Suits, a PR person pitched Meghan for an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. But Cohen didn’t watch Suits and so rejected her. And that might harm his chances of recruiting her for Real Housewives.
