General Hospital spoilers tease that Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) wanted nothing more to do with Heather Webber (Alley Mills). As viewers know, Heather has been in and out of mental facilities and prisons for the last several years. None of those facilities have been able to hold Heather for long.
She is as smart as she is insane. But recent discoveries have uncovered that Heather may not be completely responsible for some of her worst behaviors, including the murders she committed as the Hook!
General Hospital Spoilers – Heather Webber Has Cobalt Poisoning!
Heather had a hip replacement years ago although she doesn’t remember exactly when. Apparently, the artificial hip was made of cobalt or had quite a bit of cobalt as one of its components.
As a result, the cobalt has likely been poisoning Heather for years, and could possibly have been directly responsible for many of her criminal actions over the years.
Laura found compassion for Heather where there was once hatred. Laura has convinced Heather to have the deadly hip replaced.
GH Spoilers – Will Heather Webber Be A Changed Woman After Surgery?
Since there are still many unknowns, there’s no telling just yet if removing the cobalt will change Heather at all. It’s also possible that Heather will only slowly regain her sanity.
Laura wonders if there is even a possibility that Heather’s sentence for her many crimes could be overturned if this new evidence comes to light.
There is somewhat of a precedent for this to happen. Many years ago, Heather’s son Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) didn’t have to serve any time in prison because of a brain tumor that altered his personality.
Franco went on to live a productive life until he was murdered by Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
General Hospital Spoilers – What Could Happen To Heather Webber!
Laura seems to be putting herself in the position of being Heather’s advocate. Unfortunately, that could come back to haunt her. Perhaps a judge will set Heather free, but only if under the care of a watchful guardian.
That’s right, Laura might end up having Heather living under her roof. That could cause all kinds of problems for Laura’s marriage to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).
Laura tries to see the best in people, including her brother Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) who also claims to be completely reformed from his days as a drug kingpin. But at some point, Laura’s faith in redemption may be her undoing.
GH Spoilers – What Do You Think?
Should Heather go free? Why is Laura fighting for Heather so hard? Could Laura have bitten off more than she can chew? Anything can happen in Port Charles so stay tuned to General Hospital airing weekdays on ABC.

Cobalt poisoning from a Smith & Nephew hip implant in 2010 made me very ill and mentally unstable for years. I litigated against the London Hospital and my arrogant surgeon, one Professor Fares Haddad and won huge compensation fir clinical negligence because he hadn’t even read the manufacturer’s information leaflet for the implant so basically vut me open and stuck poisonous metal into me effectively claiming blind ignorance. Useful public of these dangerous implants continues to be kept as quiet as possible by the manufacturers, FDA (MHRA here) snd the usual greedy lawyers. I’d love to be put in direct touch with the GH writers!!
