Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins NBC Travel Competition Series ‘Destination X’ As New Host

A new game show is launching at NBC for us travel enthusiasts and they’ve found its new host in the form of ‘Walking Dead’ star Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The series has promised to be a “larger-than-life” adventure where contestants “embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea of their location.” Truthfully, I see the appeal.

‘Destination X’ Teases An Adventure That Merges Fantasy With Reality

It’s not your ordinary game show, and you can admit that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is not your ordinary host.

According to the show’s synopsis, “viewers will follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea where they are. In order to win, they must figure out their mystery locations.”

The contestants, though they’re in a blacked-out “Destination X bus,” will be given clever clues, challenges and a couple of misdirects that is designed to keep them guessing, as well as help them decipher their location points on this “real-life game board.”

It further reads, “the end of each episode, contestants must guess where they are and the furthest from the actual location is sent packing.

The first participant to reach Destination X will be crowned the winner. With high stakes and mind-blowing spectacular gameplay, the series will keep viewers engaged and take them along for the ride.”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reveals What Captivated Him the Most About ‘Destination X’

Morgan, who was reportedly picked for the game show for being a “mischievous international man of mystery,” released a statement discussing the show’s appeal for him. “Destination X captivated me with its blend of travel, mystery, and gaming. I can’t wait to embark on this wild guessing game across the globe as Master of Ceremony, navigating players through challenges that test their mental and physical abilities,” he said.

NBC Universal’s Executive Vice President of unscripted content, competition and game shows, Corie Henson, praised Morgan in a statement calling him “the perfect host and puppet master for this new travel adventure series.” Henson added, “He’s dashing, charming, playful and the ultimate travel companion!”

Destination X will premiere sometime in 2025.
