Star Matt Lucas, of Little Britain and The Great British Bake Off, has been posting many versions of his catchy song named ” Thank You, Baked Potato,” which would be used to raise money for NHS Workers to have meals.
The Comedian recently debuted the orchestral version of the song and decided to feature the cast of Coronation Street. The ones who were included in this was Andy Whyment, Daniel Brocklebank, Simon Gregson (along with his dog), Jennie McAlpine, Sally Ann Matthews, Colson Smith, Alexandra Mardell (who recently dyed her hair blue) and Patti Clare. This group of actors sung from their own homes through a live video.

The video was captioned, “What a treat! I’m chuffed to bits! Thank you so much to the wonderful cast of Coronation Street for joining me today in a rendition of #ThankYouBakedPotato!!!” He went on to link the original version of the song as well saying that the proceeds would go towards feeding the NHS. “And you can download the original here – https://slinky.to/ThankYouBakedPotato… – all proceeds go to #FeedNHS.”
It’s a Doctor Who-themed duet today, as I reunite with my lovely friend @Pearlie_mack – and of course you can download #ThankYouBakedPotato for #FeedNHS here https://t.co/yZo3HScHQU and buy the book here https://t.co/ndn14tuI96 pic.twitter.com/YSIi307WBw

Coronation Street Spoilers – The Big Night In Controversy
The cast was really excited to be involved in this event, and this could be seen by the viewers. The Big Night In involved Lucas and David Walliams to play characters like Vicky Pollard and Marjorie Dawes. They also tried to play the characters of Emily and Florence but went against doing so.
Although some audience members would become upset by one of the sketches involved a phrase about eating bats, which did not go over well.
Coronation Street has been put on hold due to the pandemic, and it is nice seeing each of the characters try to support the NHS in any way that they can. Currently, the show is not due to run of episodes until July, and they will not run out if they are able to get production back up as soon as possible. What do you think? Were you able to watch the Big Night In and if so, did you enjoy what they put together? What are you doing while under lockdown?
