There was a distinct divide been trending searches for Beyoncé and Coachella in April. Actually, it’s interesting as the two popular topics split right down the middle between the east and west of the USA. However, there was a recent uptick in Coachella over a controversy.
The Popular Singer’s Concert & More
Google Trends delivers maps on various topics that start buzzing on the Internet. Well, Beyoncé buzzed in April for many reasons and that is tied to her Cowboy Carter tour that started. Briefly, her daughter, Rumi stole the show. Additionally, some shows were announced for Paris.

Then, her new album was also still doing incredibly well, topping charts and breaking records. Meanwhile, those interested in fashion and style buzzed about some cool custom jewelry. Plus, there were rumors about her and Jay-Z maybe buying a place in the UK.
The ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ Singer Not at The Festival
It’s worth remembering that while she’s a Coachella legend from her 2018 Beychella performance, she wasn’t actually there in April 2024 or 2025. The music and arts festival has been around for over two decades. The annual interest in the show, started by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen, attracts artists and onlookers across a wide range.
It stands to reason, then, that each April, the fun festival trends. But it seems very interesting that the western half of the USA seemed interested in the festival, while the eastern USA searched heavily for the Crazy in Love singer. Well, apart from the District of Columbia.
Will The Festival Overtake Her In Trends?
In the short term, it looks like interest might be spiking more towards Coachella in early May. Why is that? Well, there’s controversy over Irish hip-hop trio KNEECAP and accusations of antisemitism during their Coachella performance.

Right now, hardly anyone is cheering for them in Germany. Two festivals by FKP Scorpio saw them canceled from the music lineups. Additionally, political reactions in the UK were harsh. While it’s controversial, of course, social media engagement pushes the topic upward. The Wrap cited an X post by the band that said:
Let’s not lose sight of why the entire political class and their media are so ‘outraged’ about KNEECAP and have no outrage for a mass slaughter of children. You cannot tell the truth at Coachella. It’s about distraction and a loud warning to other acts to stay silent, or we will try to silence you.
The Drama
For now, the strong pro-Palestinian messages they displayed on screens during their set caused a lot of opinions to mushroom across the keyboards of the world. Their performance directly accused Israel of genocide against Palestinians and criticized the US government for supporting Israel. They also used explicit language like “F*** Israel. Free Palestine.”
Perhaps Beyoncé wouldn’t mind taking a temporary step back in trending searches, given the hoo-ha over KNEECAP. What are your thoughts? Shout out in the comments below, and come back here often for all your celebrity news and updates.
