Look for a young woman named Chelsey to appear.

Viewers know that Carla has worked hard to get her life back on track after having suffered a scary mental health woe last year following the Underworld Factory roof collapse.

Even so, she has reignited her romance with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and became a temporary landlady of the Rovers Return.

When Carla was in the middle of her mental health issue she left town, under the impression that those closest to her had turned against her.

No one knew where she was. But executive producer Iain MacLeod hinted something happened which would be addressed in the present time.

The time has come to reveal all and perhaps Carla won’t be able to handle it and be forced to run away again?

In a more recent interview, MacLeod said: “We wanted to revisit that at a point when Carla feels like she is back on an even keel psychologically, and now fill in the blanks. We don’t know precisely what she got up to when she was away. We saw glimpses of it with the hotel and the squat, but we don’t really know what happened.”

According to the exec, two new people will emerge from Carla’s mental health story.
