ITV boss, who is over Emmerdale and Coronation Street, has recently been forced to address some of the characters’ new looks, which will show on the screen when they began filming. A couple of the cast members of the soaps have decided to transform their hairstyles and colors while they were under lockdown. The actors/ actresses tried to fight boredom as they were inside and one way that some have done is taken the opportunity to change their hairstyles.
Soap Star Changing Hair Styles and Colors
This has included soap stars such as Matthew Wolfenden, Alexander Lincoln, Sue Cleaver, and Tina O’Brien. These stars have shaved their heads or dyed their hair in different fun colors. There have also been some soap stars who have also cut their hair off in the name of charity this includes Danny Miller.
However, filming will be starting back soon, and now many of the stars have changed a lot due to lockdown, and it would be in bad taste for them to ignore that their characters have up and changed in what will look like an out of the blue decision made by a few characters.
Changes Written into Story
John Whiston, who is the Managing Director of Continuing Drama for ITV, has addressed this by saying that the team behind the show has addressed this in the upcoming episodes. There will be lines that will be written that will have some characters taking the piss out of the characters whos looks have changed.
He went on to say while appearing on a segment on Good Morning Britain, “Most of the cast decided to shave their heads, and all the female cast decided to dye their hair puce, which is a problem when everyone’s coming back to work. ‘How did their hair get like that?'”

He went on to say in the interview that there will not be any children on the show for a while once they restart production in the upcoming week. He says that it will be harder to have young children on the set because of the extra people who come along with the children. “Children come with extra people… chaperones and tutors… so it’s gonna be a bit like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, with the town square all free of children.”
