The royal family Easter Sunday service at Windsor got some headlines because of Prince William and Princess Catherine, but someone unfamiliar to many Americans also showed up and he is Peter Phillips. Read on to find out why those familiar with the royal family took a lot of interest in it.

Who Is Peter?

If you don’t know, Princess Anne produced two children during her union with Captain Mark Phillips: Peter and Zara. Why isn’t her son in the headlines every five minutes? After all, he was in line to the throne when he was born.

However, per Town and Country, he never held a royal title, as his parents declined offers for him to be born into the peerage to allow for a more normal life.

These days, he works in sports management. Plus, he’s involved in charities like Habitat for Humanity. But, his arrival at the Easter Service alongside Prince William and the rest of the royals seems newsworthy because he’s getting married again in June. And, he took along his soon-to-be blended family.

The New Inner-Circle Teen

When Royal Insider News posted a video about it on YouTube, they noted that Peter Phillips arrived for the Easter Matins service. Notably, he didn’t only take his daughters, Savannah (15) and Isla (14), from his first marriage. He also took his fiancée, Harriet Sperling, and her 13-year-old daughter, Georgina.

For Georgina, it seemed important because it’s the first time anyone saw her at a royal event. So clearly, it was a chance for her to be ushered into the inner circle, so to speak.

Royal Fans React

As it seemed unusual, quite a lot of people took to the comments to talk about Peter Phillips and his family. One of them opined, “All the royal children are growning up nicely together.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • Notice Prince George giving them the side eye – that boy is growing up fast!
  • Did not think the new teenager was dressed appropriately for Easter Sunday. Who picked that outfit? Pretty girls. They were very well behaved and did a good job.
  • She looks very casually dressed to be attending church with the King and royal family.

Royal Protocol

Well, she’s still a kid, and she’s not now, or ever will be a royal. Still, appearances matter, and perhaps in time, she will learn a bit more about protocol.

It seems interesting that people didn’t like the fact that the blended family showed little regard for pomp and circumstance. Especially, as so many people slam it these days.
