Developments surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor took a serious turn recently. Undoubtedly, the escalation of his scandals places much more pressure on the British monarchy. Read on to find out more.
A New Investigation
During a recent panel discussion on TalkTV, commentators broke down the latest legal trouble facing the Duke of York. That arose from news reported that police investigate him over new potential sex offenses.
According to the podcast segment, detectives prepare to interview a woman. She claims being taken to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor specifically for sexual purposes.

Well that’s no big surprise because various people leaked about this sort of thing happening.
Sillence No Longer Cuts It
Jeremy Kyle and Kinsey Schofield discussed how the tradition by The Firm of keeping quiet simply doesn’t work these days. Kinsey noted that public patience wore thin.
Admittedly, he’s not living at Windsor these days, but he’s not exactly slumming it in his “cushy home somewhere else on another royal estate.”
Naturally, the panel echoed many critics when they asked why former prince Andrew is permitted an “early retirement” funded by the King.
The Late Queen’s Legacy Targeted
As if things weren’t bad enough with the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor for questionable activities as trade envoy, he also impacts on perceptions of the late Queen Elizabeth.
In their chat, the duo noted that the Daily Mail ran a story alleging that the Queen pushed for her son to get his former role as a trade envoy.

Others like The Guardian pondered similar things. And from there, many folks wonder if jail lies ahead for the former prince.
One can’t help but notice how there’s a change in reporting across various media platforms. Previously, most journalists held Queen Elizabeth in high regard. However, she’s being openly slammed now for shielding her favourite son.
No Excuse
Kyle remarked that it “breaks my heart. But there’s no excuse. I don’t I don’t know of any mother that would say there’s 12 million quid. I don’t want to know I don’t want to talk about it.”
Naturally, that led the discussion into the realm of King Charles. If you don’t know, reportedly he’d been unwilling to endorse his brother for the trade role. So, it turned into “a recipe for disaster.”
Calls to Cut Off Family Members
As the legal pressure mounts, the panel wondered whether the monarchy can hold out without taking some rather drastic steps to protect itself.
For example, Schofield argued that the palace needs to “cut Beatrice and Eugenie off” financially. And it’s true that they always seem mired in a pot of reminders about their parents’ questionable actions.
Guest speaker Charlie agreed with the sentiment, suggesting that both princesses “should take a step back.”
Additionally, he mentioned Sarah Ferguson, noting that she “should not be getting anywhere near” the TV deals she’s reportedly pursuing.
A Big Change Has To Come?
The discussion closed with some predictions about the future of the royal institution. Kyle suggested that the only way for the monarchy to survive the continuous damage is a total change in leadership.
In the situation with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, perhaps folks will see King Charles “fall on his sword.” After all, his health battle with cancer gives him an acceptable exit.
Naturally, with a lot of hope on him, Prince William and Princess Catherine could then step in with a reasonably “clean broom.” If that doesn’t happen, the general feeling is that things look dire for the royal family.
Viewers React
Plenty of folks who watched the discussion had their say in the comments section. One of them opined, “You would need to be totally delusional to believe Andrew will be sent to prison. He will end up leaving the country and living in Dubai or a similar place.”
Here are a few other responses from the discussion:
- It’s not just Andrew. He’s the tip of the iceberg. This whole thing will never be allowed to progress.
- Zero chance a Royal will go to jail. Zero.
- Sending one of their own to prison? Come on, really?
- The patience of the public HAS WORN THIN, proper action must be taken, of everything that is under the royal carpet!!
- The King should ensure Andrew is charged and tried to demonstrate that the monarchy is not above the law. Nothing less will save it.
