General Hospital Spoilers: Peter August’s Shocking Comeback – Wild Return Spells Trouble for Anna?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) could once again become a key player in Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) storyline.

If Peter gets thrown in the mix for a stunning comeback, it could definitely have an impact on Anna’s story moving forward.

Unfortunately, Anna has more mental health struggles in her future. Although Anna is saying and doing whatever it takes to get out of her facility in France, she obviously isn’t quite the same Anna anymore.

Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) made sure Anna headed down this path of torment when he pulled the strings on her gaslighting at Wyndemere.

Anna came to believe Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) was still alive thanks to Cullum and all the dirty tricks that were carried out.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Anna were still having visions like the ones she had while stuck in captivity on Spoon Island. Anna has been alone with her thoughts in France for quite some time, so maybe a familiar face has been appearing to her there, too.

Peter is deceased like Faison, but perhaps Anna could still be “seeing” her nephew and getting bad guidance along the way. Let’s consider a clue that GH Head Writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten offered up to SOD.

“We’ll begin to see the long-term effects of her imprisonment and gaslighting at Cullum’s hands. Any happy reunions with friends and family are colored by counsel from a less-than-reliable source,” Van Etten and Korte teased in their summer preview.

Since Anna isn’t truly well yet and will be counseled by this mysterious “less-than-reliable source,” we have to consider who that source might be. Peter would fit if he’s come back from the grave in the form of more visions.

We could imagine Peter advising Anna not to trust people like Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) and anyone else who cares about her.

Peter might act like Anna can only trust herself and her own judgment, even if Anna clearly can’t!

In other words, Anna might masquerade as a sane person while secretly dealing with Peter hallucinations and his awful advice. This version of Peter could pop up and cause Anna to make some shocking moves due to whatever twisted words of wisdom he shares.
