1. Paul is the son of a police detective and his wife Mary Williams (Carolyn Conwell). Not surprisingly given his DNA, Paul is the Genoa City Chief of Police!

2. One upon a time Paul was involved with Nikki Reed Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Unfortunately, during their relationship, Paul gifted Nikki with a sexually transmitted disease. Big oops.

3. The character of Paul Williams debuted way back in 1978, and Doug Davidson has the distinction of being the only actor to portray the character.

4. Nikki and Paul were a part of the New World cult where they were subject to nefarious actions by cult leader Ian Ward (Ray Wise).

5. Davidson has been nominated numerous times for a Daytime Emmy and he won an award in the Outstanding Lead Actor category in 2013.

6. Paul was in love with Christine Blair while she was married to rock star Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).

Today Paul has been married to Christine for what constitutes a lifetime on soaps—many years! He continues to work at the Genoa City Police Department and for a time was seemingly usurped by a young upstart, Rey Rosales (Jordi VIlasuso).
