General Hospital Spoilers: Sasha's Anticipated Return To The ABC Soap Faces A Surprising Obstacle!General Hospital spoilers and updates tease the ABC soap may  have just hinted at bringing back Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). But there’s just one big problem with that, because of Sofia’s prior commitments, the role may have to be recast!

Fans Were Blindsided When Ethan Made A Surprise Return

We were truly taken aback when Ethan Lovett (Christian Howard) made a surprise return to General Hospital.

We genuinely believed that his abrupt departure from Port Charles marked the conclusion of his storyline, but then Hudson Parker (Troy Lennon Appel) tracked him all the way to Norway for a conversation. And that was followed by a series of threats!

It appears almost certain that Hudson is the father of Phoebe Chase (Luna and Lucia Creighton). Yet all Ethan revealed was that both Delilah Wilson (Lily Cardone) and the baby had perished.

Ethan Lied About Phoebe’s Death, Hudson Threatened Ethan’s Mother And Sisters And Him

We all know that part of that statement is a fabrication. To make matters worse, Hudson issued a chilling warning to Phoebe’s protector: if he discovered Ethan was being dishonest, he would kill his mother and sisters, and then eliminate him as well!

Just like that, the lives of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), and Sasha are now at risk. This certainly hints that we might see Holly and Sasha in the near future-after all, the truth will eventually surface!

However, there’s a catch: although she hasn’t started airing yet, Sofia Mattsson is currently occupied over at Days of Our Lives!

Sofia Has Been Cast In A Mystery Role And Will Appear In Early 2027

She has been cast in a mysterious role that is scheduled to air in early 2027-indeed, the Peacock soap opera films that far ahead.

So, if Sasha does make an appearance, even if it’s just a fleeting moment while Hudson poses a threat, it appears that General Hospital will need to find another actress to portray her.

Many fan theories suggest Mattsson might be bringing back the late Abigail DiMera (who was played by both Marci Miller and Kate Mansi!) to Salem. Why not have General Hospital turn the tables and bring former Abby, Marci Miller, to take on the role of Sasha?

If That Doesn’t Work Out, Perhaps Sofia’s Sister Helena Could Step In

If that plan falls through, Sofia’s sister, Helena Mattsson, could step in-she’s done it before. Additionally, while it seems that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) is still alive and well offscreen, the show will eventually have to confront Tristan’s passing, and with it, Robert’s as well.

We definitely need Sasha and Holly back for that moment! In fact, the more we ponder this, the more we realize that whenever she returns, poor Sasha is bound to face even more heartache.
