More On Lifetime’s All My Children Movie

The movie is being spearheaded by former AMC co-stars (and real-life husband and wife) Kelly Ripa (Hayley Vaughan) and Mark Consuelos (Mateo Santos), along with producer Andrew Stearn.

According to Daytime Confidential, Stearn picked some veteran soap writers to scribe the first of the two planned AMC reunion flicks currently in development at Lifetime. Those two writers happen to be Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens.

As fans know, Carlivati has been a head writer on soaps like One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Days of Our Lives. More recently, he worked as a breakdown writer for Beyond the Gates.

Interestingly enough, Giddens has been in the soap news lately for stepping into the co-head writing role on The Young and the Restless, along with Dan O’Connor, as the duo replaced Josh Griffith.

Giddens worked on the Days of Our Lives writing team from 2020 to 2025 as a breakdown writer, as well as Beyond the Gates in the same role. This year, Giddens has been nominated for two Daytime Emmys, both for his work on Beyond the Gates and Days.

It’s important to note that the second AMC reunion movie was penned by primetime writer Leo Richardson.

AMC Reunion Movies

The two All My Children reunion movies on Lifetime will be produced via Ripa and Consuelos’ production company, Milojo. The films will center on what Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Dr. Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) have been up to since fans last saw them in 2011 when the show was cancelled.

The project is close to Ripa and Consuelos since the two met and fell in love while working on the sudser. Consuelos noted, “It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years. ‘All My Children’ gave me my family.”

He added, “I met my wife there. It gave me my start in business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
