General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Named Prime Suspect In Brennan’s Murder?

General Hospital spoilers reveal there’s a good chance that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is named the prime suspect in Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) murder.

All arrows are pointing toward Carly landing in hot water once the WSB Chief’s body is found, so let’s unpack this potential storyline.

The Usual Suspects

Since Brennan’s body was discovered by Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) at the close of the Monday, August 31 episode, there’s been a ton of rumors and speculation regarding who killed Brennan (and if he passed away by accident).

There’s also a buzz about who will be named a prime suspect. There have been many fan theories, so let’s talk about a big one: the fact that Carly could get hauled into custody for killing Brennan.

While Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) threatened Brennan in front of a slew of people at the Metro Court Gardens, she may have a concrete alibi as to where she was during his murder.

Forensics might be able to determine the cause and time of death when Brennan’s body is found.

Would they be able to determine that he drown in the Metro Court Pool? If he was last seen at the Metro Court, and pool chlorine is traced on his body, this is a strong possibility.

Why Carly Spencer?

While Carly likely wasn’t behind Brennan’s drowning (at this point it’s uncertain if he stumbled into the pool or someone pushed him), she definitely would have a motive to kill him.

It’s no secret that Carly wasn’t happy with Brennan for recruiting her daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), into the WSB.

Plus, Carly ended up cheating on Brennan and breaking up their relationship by sleeping with the man’s known enemy, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). To boot, Brennan was the one who had evidence that he ‘erased’ on Carly.

Fans may recall that Brennan had the tape of Carly admitting she was heading up Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) organization when Sonny was thought to be dead: the very tape John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) used to blackmail Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) with.

Will someone find this and believe that Carly killed Brennan to keep him quiet? There’s also the fact that Carly and Jason were in Brennan’s room the day he drowned, and his room was ransacked – thanks to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Ava Jerome (Maura West)! Will it look like Jason and Carly were the perpetrators looking for this tape?
