Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Acts Like A ‘Hotshot Businessman’ Despite Prison Risk

Royal family watchers might be under the impression that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lives a secluded life at Marsh Farm. However, royal biographer Andrew Lownie recently suggested that this is not the case at all. Read on to find out more.

Back in June, news emerged that the former Prince Andrew had taken himself off to France. He reportedly travelled to Brittany to party with some wealthy friends, and when he returned, he had a bruise on his face. That started plenty of speculation about what might have happened.

Now, according to Lownie, Andrew often takes private flights out of the UK. Discussing his travels with Paula Froelich on NewsNation this weekend, she said she had heard that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had “made some trips abroad” over the past few months.

With Andrew still under investigation following his arrest over his time as a trade envoy, and a separate court case involving an alleged stalker, it is only natural that people are curious about his movements.

Business As Usual

Lownie claimed that Andrew appears to be carrying on as though it’s business as usual. He also pointed out that Mountbatten-Windsor still “has a passport” and “can slip out the back door at Marsh Farm and be driven to the local airport and stuck on a private jet.”

The biographer mentioned Andrew’s trip to Brittany and claimed that he had looked into buying a home in the south of France. Lownie also said that the former prince had travelled to Switzerland and visited the Middle East.

No Worries

Lownie described Andrew as someone who believes “he’s a hotshot businessman” and concluded that he hardly acts as though he is “worried about going to prison.”

Beyond that, Lownie alleged that the royal family knows Andrew doesn’t confine himself to Marsh Farm. He claimed that Andrew visits his siblings after “being smuggled out of the house.”

The House Arrest Myth

According to the biographer, it suits the royal family to “suggest that he’s under house arrest.”

On the surface, it might appear that the rest of the royal family has distanced itself from Andrew “because of the reputational damage.” However, Lownie added, “I think behind the scenes, it’s still a pretty cozy relationship.”
