Corrie spoilers reveal that fans know Geoff Metcalfe’s (Ian Barthomolew) is anything but genuine. He just doesn’t want to risk the truth about him coming out. After all, he has a “reputation” to uphold in the community and too many people are starting to believe Yasmeen.

Plus, he misses having an innocent woman to abuse, control, and manipulate. He would have to start all over again. In his mind, it’s much easier to regain control over the woman he has tormented and tortured for the past two years.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Wants To Live Her Life Again

King explained that Yasmeen really wants to believe Geoff and that things will be different this time. That he will get professional help and Yasmeen just wants to live her life again, King told Digital Spy. She wants this nightmare to be over, even though she would be taking a big risk by going back to Geoff.

“It’s been in the newspapers, and why should she want that? She just wants to be left alone and to carry on her life in her little community, which she’s spent the last few years creating. She doesn’t want to get out of that.”

Disturbing Consequences Of Coercive Control

The actress also said that fans will see one aspect of abuse that is rarely explained, discussed, or even understood. Why do women go back? King said,

“It’s a dilemma because she really wants him to change. We don’t know what she’s going to do, as many women do believe it and that’s why these relationships go on and on… And the thing is, if Yasmeen says, ‘I believe you’, then that’s it, the charges are dropped and they start living again. But will she?”

It seems that Yasmeen will be tempted to do what Geoff wants. However, viewers already know that things won’t be better at all. They will probably get worse and everyone is worried what that means for Yasmeen’s future — and her life.
