The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) reappearance will naturally create strong reactions. Assuming that Thomas is working toward redemption, viewers can assume three things. First, the time away from everyone allowed Atkinson’s character to admit that Hope doesn’t love him. He can’t force her to be his wife but must prove that he can co-parent Douglas effectively.

B&B Spoilers – Reestablishing Trust With Douglas Forrester

Thomas used Douglas on many occasions. The boy became an emotional weapon, aimed at Hope, with the intent of forging a family bond. The effort was fated to fail and it did.

Douglas is a highly intelligent and insightful young man. He resisted his father’s attempts to suppress the Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) lie. Samiri’s character was also directly involved in exposing his father’s actual feelings for Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) during the intended wedding ceremony.

This particular part of Thomas’ life will take the most work. Douglas’ life has already been permanently affected by the loss of his mother, Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey). The stability that Hope and now, Liam represent isn’t something that Douglas will want to change. So, his dad will need to tread slowly and steadily, in order to reestablish trust.

There’s no doubt that Thomas is a talented fashion designer. His birthright affords him access to the position he’s held. That’s a spot others in the trade have enjoyed, as a family often looks out for the family.

However, working for the business means that Thomas can’t be working against his sister. So, any fantasies he had about assuming control of FC in the future need to be eliminated.

Steffy co-heads the company with their father, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). Thomas needs to fully respect the chain of command and not seek to take advantage.
