The fall Sheila took, after tussling with Bill and then falling backward over his balcony, was incredible and visually memorable. A fall one-quarter in length could have killed many people, with a massive concussion likely resulting.

But to fall as far as Sheila did and then live requires viewers to suspend disbelief. Doing so gets them to the next part of the plot, where Sheila is expected to attempt to flee Los Angeles, California.

Bill had her. He accomplished the seemingly impossible, and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) was impressed.
