But Steffy realized Hope may have often forgiven Thomas and has kept a line open to him because she cares deeply for Atkinson’s character.

During the show, Liam came to the cliff house where the famous portrait of him and Steffy hung on the living room wall for years. At one point in the script, he and Steffy warmly embraced as they recalled their shared past.

The cliff house’s front window became a part of the scene. It was not shown inside the home, but during a long shot that included Steffy and Liam inside and fireworks above with the number 9000 showing.

It would seem too much to ask the audience to suspend disbelief by having Steffy betray her husband’s trust. She and John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) are solid. A rerun of Steffy and Liam would feel like tired ground.

What feels like the inevitable drama between Hope and Thomas, with Noelle’s character sparking the conflict, would be followed by Liam’s emotional devastation. Steffy would be his natural go-to source for comfort.

But Finn is Steffy’s guy. So, some alternative outlet for Liam would seem more plausible when he presumably falls on B&B.
