Coronation Street Boss Iain MacLeod Promises A Joyful Yuletide Season In Weatherfield

Coronation Street’ Coronation Street’s boss Iain MacLeod gave the loyal fans a hint on what to expect on Weatherfield this coming Christmas and it is what the whole nation needs.

This year was filled with scenes that broke everybody’s hearts, especially the intense Super Soap Week that was loaded with revenge, natural disasters, and death. Nevertheless, “Corrie” melted the hearts of the viewers in some scenes just like when Abi Franklin walked down the aisle and got hitched with Kevin Webster.

After all these rollercoaster episodes, one of the soap’s Executive Producers, Iain MacLeod assured the avid viewers of a joyous and heartwarming Christmas on the cobbles. “It’s quite jolly, actually,” he said as documented by Metro.

“There’s a tradition of soaps going dark and gothic and we have dipped our toes in that previously, but this is a traditional Christmas,” MacLeod added. He also unveiled the heartwarming vibe in Weatherfield and how the family celebrates Christmas in the jolliest way.

As “Coronation Street’s” nature to give intense episodes, the boss hinted at a possible physical fight in one scene. “It has one of the silliest fights I have ever seen: ‘smell my marigold! I will let you wonder what that refers to! I watched it when I wasn’t feeling very festive and by the end, I have a mince pie-shaped lump in my throat,” MacLeod stated. He revealed he shed a tear while doing the scenes, but it was a happy and magnificent feeling.

“Coronation Street” saddened the viewers when Roy Cropper left the cobbles and made his way to start fresh in South America.

Roy packed his bag when guilt was slowly devouring him after he saw Abi Franklin point a gun at the iconic villain, Corey Brent. It has been discovered that it was the same gun that killed Natasha Blakeman during Super Soap Week. When interrogated by the authorities, Roy denied everything he witnessed.

It seems like the Roy’s Rolls owner misses Weatherfield right away that according to The Sun, actor David Neilson was spotted on the set of the longest-running drama.
