‘Coronation Street’ Producer Gives Update About Abi Webster’s Storyline

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that the beloved character, Abi Webster, will encounter new storylines in the cobbles.

In the previous episodes of the longest-running soap, Abi fought with all her heart to win the custody of her son, Alfie, who was the fruit of her intimate mistake with the late Imran Habeeb. When the solicitor eternally left the cobbles, Abi finally got her son into her arms. However, the loving mom stayed in a baby foster for the meantime to assess her capability to take care of a child.

On the other hand, amidst the battle she faced for her bundle of joy, Abi also encountered some problems with her husband, Kevin Webster. Howbeit, despite all their issues, their love was stronger that they chose to forgive and fix their relationship.

In the upcoming episodes of “Coronation Street,” producer Iain MacLeod hinted that Abi will once again encounter someone from her past. “That will cause a massive culture clash comedy. She meets somebody from her past she has a historical connection with, who is the polar opposite, so it’s an odd couple story,” he told Digital Spy.

Moreover, her new storylines include a happy and loving relationship with Kevin. Though the couple will still face a lot of challenges along the way, their love will be mightier than before. MacLeod also hinted that Abi will involve herself in a social issue and will be a rock to one of the youngsters in Weatherfield. To spice up her storylines more, she will soon become a surrogate mother and will face some issues that will lead her to “investigate her own history of substance misuse over the years.”

In other news, the “Corrie’s” real-life couple received sweet Christmas greetings from their avid fans after Sally Carman posted a photo of herself alongside Joe Duttine.
