Coronation Street Spoilers: A Major Character Is Returning

Coronation Street spoilers indicate that fans will soon be seeing a very familiar face pop back up in Weatherfield. According to new Corrie spoilers, the soap’s showrunner Kate Oates has even teased that Lewis Archer is coming back to the show, and he’s bringing a whole lot of drama with him!

Lewis, who many know as the con man, or “king of cards,” will be back after it was revealed that he is now working with psychic Rosemary. Once he’s back in town, he will reach out to Audrey, who will soon find out that she’s once again under his spell!

Kate Oates told Britain’s Metro in a new interview, “We have Lewis – king of cads! He is returning – I would have him for as long as Nigel Havers would want to stay as he works brilliantly with Sue Nicholls and I love that existing dynamic that he played both mother and daughter. It’s perfect and I love everything that they have done with Sophie Thompson [who plays Rosemary] as none of them have overplayed it.”

The Coronation Street boss also admitted that she felt pretty anxious about involving Lewis and Rosemary in a storyline targeting Audrey and Gail.

Kate added, “If you are going to tell that truthfully, you have a woman whose husband was a serial killer, then you have a stranger coming in but you’re playing it for laughs – how can you expect Helen Worth to play that honestly? But the writers were brilliant and were able to unfold it so it feels very truthful in the moment and we will just spin it in a bit of a different way after that. Sophie does everything with integrity – she was perfect for it.”
