Coronation Street Spoilers: Billy Is Appalled At Paul’s Confession

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) is set to face a betrayal amidst Paul’s (Peter Ash) devastating illness. Paul was recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), for which there is currently no cure.

After telling his friends and family, Bernie (Jane Halzegrove) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) organized a charity event to raise funds for Paul. While Paul understands that his friends are doing it because they love him and want to help in any way they can, Paul is not comfortable being the center of attention.

“Paul finds the whole thing really awkward,” Peter Ash said about his character’s feelings. “He doesn’t like feeling pitied or being the centre of attention at something like this. He does understand that everyone’s doing it because they want to help and they love him, but he doesn’t feel right about it.”

Worse, “it does remind of what he’s been dealt, and the fact that he might not be there that much longer.”

Coronation Street Spoilers – Argument Over Religion And Crystal Therapy Ensues

Despite Paul’s discomfort at being the center of attention, the event was successful in raising £800. However, tension arises later in the episode as an argument ensues between Billy and Bernie over the topics of religion and crystal therapy.

Feeling frustrated, Paul escapes to a hotel bar and drinks. He met his old friend Zac and he has been drunk, they end up sleeping together. In the aftermath, Paul discovers that Zac has stolen the charity money.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Paul Admits the Incident to Billy

Paul returned home and Billy was relieved to hear from him that he had simply passed out on a friend’s sofa after having one too many drinks.

But when Billy suggested using some of the charity money to purchase a stairlift, Paul became defensive and admitted that he had met up with Zac and things had gotten out of hand and the money is gone.

Billy was appalled by Paul’s confession and was unsure where to go from there.

Peter Ash teased that this was a pivotal moment in Billy and Paul’s relationship. Paul had crossed a line he should not have and risked losing Billy instantly. It was a difficult and unpleasant situation to be in, for sure.

Will Billy break up with Paul after his confession? Or will he stay knowing that Paul is terminally ill and they may not have much time left together?
