Eventually, Kelly gave in and tried to take care of her dying mother. As time goes on, Kelly is having a harder time taking care of all of her responsibilities. Gary and Maria have no clue of everything Kelly is going through. In fact, Gary questioned Kelly about why she didn’t come home until the wee hours of the morning. Kelly claimed that she was running to help her relax.

Kelly ended up confiding in Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) that she is serving as a caregiver as well as going to school and working. Simon urged her to open up to Gary and Maria. However, Kelly made it crystal clear that she’s not going to do that. Later, Maria asked Kelly to work more hours at the barbershop.
