The Queen previously visited the ITV soap back in 1982 in Manchester, which was its original studio until it moved to Trafford in 2013. Her Majesty spent 40 minutes touring the set and studios where she met the show’s cast and crew. The Queen said “It’s really marvellous you’ve been able to carry on,” after asking how they managed to continue filming during the pandemic. Roache replied “Well, ma’am, you’re the one who has carried on.”
