Coronation Street – Lorna Laidlaw Clarifies Aggie Bailey And Tim Metcalfe’s Connection

Lorna Laidlaw made it clear that her character and Tim are unlikely to have a romantic connection.

“If the writers put it in, I would absolutely say ‘No’ to it,” the actress said in an interview with Inside Soap.

“Of course, people are jumping to that conclusion. But men and women are allowed to have friendships, and it’s important we show that,” she explained.

She didn’t say much as to what Sally’s reaction would be when she found out about Tim and Sally’s correspondence. But she did hint that “it all explodes.”

The actress explained that things would have been different if they had been just honest in the beginning. But they were trying too hard to prevent people from thinking they were having an affair and that their little lies had already built up and created a bigger problem.

Coronation Street – Laidlaw’s Emotional Response to Departure of Onscreen Son

Laidlaw also opened up about the exit of Nathan Graham as James Bailey. James left Weatherfield after he secured a football coach job for a youth center near Lewisham.

“I’m filling up just thinking about it. My two on-screen boys are not much different in age to my real sons, I found it quite emotional,” she explained.

Graham’s departure has significantly affected Laidlaw, especially because they’ve already created a strong unit.
