Adam Levine Faces Backlash For Past Cheating Confession

In the wake of Instagram model Sumner Stroh and several more women accusing Adam Levine of cheating on his wife Behati Prinsloo, the Maroon 5 singer has tried to deny an affair. But his words in an interview before he married have now come back to haunt him. And in that interview, Adam questioned monogamy, noted Page Six.

“Instinctively, monogamy is not in our genetic makeup,” stated Levine in the 2009 interview. “People cheat. I have cheated. And you know what? There is nothing worse than the feeling of doing it.”

However, the 43-year-old admitted that he felt remorseful then. And he feels that same regret now. For instance, in his Instagram denial of the affair, Adam described his past with Sumner as “regrettable.” But he then waffled back and forth between regrets and confessions.

Behati Prinsloo Very Upset With Hubby Adam Levine Amid Scandal

While some fans of the Maroon 5 singer believed his protests of innocence, others questioned what Adam meant by admitting he “crossed the line” in allegedly flirting with Instagram model Sumner. “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life,” stated Levine.

As a result, Adam wants to do what he can to regain his wife Behati’s trust, according to People. And insiders shared that Prinsloo feels extremely upset over the situation. Even though Levine denies an affair, his confession about crossing the line left the Maroon 5 singer scrambling to hold onto his family. 

And Adam, who will soon become a parent of three with his pregnant wife, has admitted that his communications with other women “became inappropriate.” However, the musician insisted that he “addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.” But Sumner, 23, insists that Levine “manipulated” her into their alleged affair. “And, quite frankly, I feel exploited,” she added in her TikTok video. Stroh later emphasized that she and Levine experienced a “physical” relationship after she graduated college in 2021.
