Alec Baldwin Receives Another Lawsuit For Halyna Hutchins’ Shooting

It’s barely a month since Alec Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter following the “Rust” movie shooting which claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and injured director Joel Souza. Now, a new lawsuit has surficed against him.

On Thursday, February 9, Halyna’s parents Olga Solovey and Anatolii Androsovych, together with Halyna’s younger sister Svetlana Zemko filled a lawsuit against Alec at Los Angeles Superior Court for, “[alleged] battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and loss of consortium.”

The lawsuit was also filed against “Rust” producers, armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, first assistant director David Halls, and other defendants who [may have] been responsible for the death of Halyna Hutchins,”—Per Deadline.

Their attorney Gloria Allred shared the reason for their latest lawsuit as lack of care and not reaching out to them, “There has been no outreach by Mr. Baldwin, no apology. We want accountability and justice for them.”

Halyna had a son with her husband Matthew Hutchins before her demise. Last year October, Alec reached a settlement with Halyna’s husband and son.

Gloria Allred made sure to clarify that this second lawsuit is quite different from t55at of Halyna’s husband and son. “The settlement was for Matthew and his child, we are now representing others in the family, Mom, Dad, and sister, and there has been no settlement for them,” said Gloria.

Alec Baldwin — Alec Filed A Cross-Complaint Against Rust Co-workers

Halyna’s immediate family are all based in Ukraine, and according to Gloria, Halyna’s sister Svetlana is very fond of Halyna and has vowed to go to any length to bring her murderer to justice.

Reports have it that Halyna had plans of relocating her immediate family to the U.S. amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Whilst Halyna couldn’t achieve that before her death, according to Co-counsel John Carpenter, her family will be moving to the U.S. for the lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Alec had filled a lawsuit against his “Rust” co-workers, especially armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed for negligence and providing him with the loaded firearm that killed Hutchins.
