Uh! The gruelling court case is not over yet, at least according to Amber Heard’s lawyer. After the rigorous trial that saw both Heard and Depp expose the worst of themselves and their lives together, the jury awarded Johnny Depp $15 million. This was reduced to $10 million due to a Virginia law capping punitive damages.
Heard is reportedly looking forward to appealing the case, and her lawyer says she can’t pay Depp the money. Buckle up, seems like the bumpy ride is not yet over.
Amber Heard’s Lawyer Reveals the Actress’s Plans Moving Forward From the Lawsuit
According to Amber Heard’s lawyer, the “Aquaman” actress does not have enough money to pay Johnny Depp after she lost the $50 million defamation lawsuit he brought up against her.
Following the jury’s verdict, Elaine Bredehoft spoke with Savannah Guthrie on Thursday’s episode of the Today show. On the show, Elaine revealed that Amber wouldn’t be able to pay that amount of money.
Bredehoft also voiced her belief that public opinion influenced the jury’s ruling. She said that millions around the world were keen to demonize Amber Heard on social media, and that it must have influenced the jury’s decision.

Amber Heard – The Court Case
Although jurors were given a direct order not to go on social media before the final verdict, Elaine said it was impossible they wouldn’t have done so. “How can you not? They went home every night, they have families, the families are on social media. We had a 10-day break in the middle because of the judicial conference. There’s no way they couldn’t have been influenced by it.”
“And it was horrible — it really, really was lopsided,” the attorney continued. “It was like the Roman Colosseum, how they viewed this whole case.”
Bredehoft added, “I was against cameras in the courtroom and I went on record with that, and had argued against it because of the sensitive nature of this [case]. But it made it a zoo.”
