YouTube notable Matthew Lewis, known as That Umbrella Guy, tweeted out his observations. But he pointed to Amber as having done the deactivation herself. And Lewis wrote, “Amber Heard has deleted her Twitter.” But his screen shot didn’t show evidence for Amber having deleted it on her own. Instead, it showed that searching for Heard’s Twitter username, @RealAmberHeard, resulted in the message that the “account doesn’t exist.”

But some social media observers argued that Amber didn’t do the deletion on her own. And they felt that her former romance with Musk, followed by his Twitter takeover, caused the deactivation. For instance, a former TMZ employee offered a different view.

And that employee, Morgan Tremaine, wrote, “Hmm looks like someone didn’t want their ex-boyfriend to have access to their account and DM’s.” However, others disagreed that Musk’s takeover sparked Amber’s Twitter removal. For instance, another argued, “This is not the flex you think it is. Do you really think that even if she deleted her Twitter to keep her ex from stalking her private messages, that this wouldn’t be an abuse of his power here?”

But aside from the argument on who deactivated Heard’s Twitter account, Heard has reportedly struggled with the social media backlash over her trial with Johnny Depp. And when he won in the end, the trolling didn’t stop.
