Debra Messing News – Criticizes The Only Female Host Recently Announced By SNL

The actress and political commentator voiced out her doubts as to the eligibility of the socialite and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian being added to SNL’s hosting roster.

“Why Kim Kardashian?” Messing wrote in a tweet on Wednesday, “I mean, I know she is a cultural icon, but SNL has hosts, generally, who are performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch. Am I missing something?”

She’s not the only one to feel skeptical regarding Kim K’s upcoming hosting gig on SNL, as the internet went crazy when the announcement was made. Nevertheless, Kim Kardashian shared her joy to land the hosting gig, writing, “no turning back now!!!”

Kim will be hosting the long-running comedy sketch on October 9 alongside Halsey, who is announced as the musical guest.

However, the reality star is certainly not the first non-performer to land the hosting gig, as former U.S. President Donald Trump hosted the show several times back in 1991. Basketball legend Michael Jordan also hosted the show. The most recent is Elon Musk, whose hosting was not without its own controversy.

For the upcoming season 47, Kim Kardashian, along with Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis and Rami Malek, were announced as hosts. The latest season of the NBC sketch comedy show will premiere on October 2, and will livestream on Peacock for the first time.

Debra Messing’s skeptical comment was not without its own drama, and while some fans were eager to agree with the “Will & Grace” actress, others did not find her questioning justified.
