Donald Trump Reveals Real Reason The Apprentice Died

Donald Trump is gearing up for another presidential campaign, and stirring up another media circus.  In case you forgot, Donald Trump was the star of NBC The Apprentice before he launched his career in politics in 2015. 

But, the Trumps got the boot from NBC and were eventually replaced by Arnold Schwarzenegger on The Apprentice. 

A new book about Donald Trump and his family’s TV career is set to be released, and the former president has a lot to say about what happened at the network.

The Apprentice became a household staple over the many years it aired on NBC.  As the show grew over the seasons, host Donald Trump’s children became regulars on the realty TV series. 

Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Jr. all appeared on several episodes.  

Obviously Donald Trump couldn’t keep filming while he was on campaigning for President, so he pressured NBC to hire Ivanka Trump as the new host.  They refused.

Per People Magazine, “In Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass, author and Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh shares interviews with members of the Trump family, NBC executives and former contestants and boardroom advisers.”

Donald Trump stated in the new book, “NBC didn’t like it, because it became like a family thing,” Donald says in the book. “But I said, ‘There’s nobody you’re going to hire that will come even close to Ivanka.’ They said, ‘Huh…’ And then they came back with Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger filmed one season of the new Apprentice on NBC, and then threw in the towel. 

In not so many words he claimed that the show would never be a success because the brand had been tarnished by the Trump Family and he was walking away.

Donald Trump seems to think that if NBC had hired Ivanka Trump to host the Apprentice in his absence, along with her brothers, the show would still be a hit on the network.
