Elizabeth Olsen Won’t Compete With A Stunt Double When It Comes To Movie Stunts

Do you know how many stars have gotten injured on set trying to do their own stunts? And yes while there’s stars like Jackie Chan and Tom Cruise that can professionally do their own stunts, Elizabeth Olsen feels that it’s “a waste of everyone’s time because a stunt double does it so much better.”

Elizabeth Olsen – Says She Loves Leaving The Stunts To the Professionals

The Scarlet Witch of “WandaVision” appeared on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about what goes on behind the scenes of her high-stakes action movies.

If you’ve seen what her characters are capable of doing physically – her MCU character Wanda, especially – you’d be wondering how it was pulled off. Well, now we know, from the “witch’s” mouth herself.

Speaking to host Stephen Colbert, she disclosed that she thinks it’s “ridiculous” for her to do most of the stunts her character does in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

She specifically talked about doing stunts on a wire, saying, “Your stomach leaves you. It’s like, I guess, the joy people get on roller coasters, which I don’t get, but people love that feeling.”

However, the “Godzilla” star actually enjoyed doing her own stunts at the beginning, but unfortunately, the giddiness and excitement it inspired wore off. She added: “Sometimes I’m just like, ‘Okay, how many more of these do you want? I can do this all day,’ kind of thing. But sometimes I get a little freaked out.”

She then recalled that one time she was dropped from 30 feet in the air when filming “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” “They wanted to drop me pretty quickly so that it looked like it had an impact, but I kept landing like Peter Pan, kind of like fencing,” she said. “I was like, ‘Just use the double. This is so ridiculous. There is a double for a reason. Like, face replace.’ They do it all the time.”

At the end of the day, Olsen said the director decided to use her take in the final cut. “We’ve had so much technology, growth through these movies, and they just chose to really use me.”

While she did most of her stunts throughout her time in the “Avengers,” the actress believes that a lot of time could have been saved by simply using a double.
