Gwyneth Paltrow just became a contender for Shadiest Celebrity of 2022. Because when the Thanks For Sharing star learned Jennifer Lopez had tied the knot with Paltrow’s ex Ben Affleck, Gwyneth managed to combine sass with class. However, the 49-year-old star did so in a way that allowed her to avoid any claims of jealousy.

When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck eloped, the star of The Last Thing He Wanted probably did not want his past girlfriends to dish on their own experiences with Ben. But oops. Gwyneth Paltrow just couldn’t resist the opportunity to get shady, noted the Overtimer.

However, not every one caught the dig. For instance, Paltrow offered up her comments in an Instagram question and answer session. And it began when a fan posed a direct question. “How do you feel about Ben and JLo?” asked the fan. And Gwyneth kept the shade subtle by overdoing her gushy response. “Love!” she summed up. “So romantic! Very happy for them.” 

However, while it sounded kind, some thought that the extravagant gushing did not resemble Paltrow’s usual style. As a result, long-time followers of the feud between J Lo and Gwyn think that Gwyneth sought to mock Jennifer by describing the elopement as romantic. Because in reality, Lopez just went to the wedding facility equivalent of a McDonald’s fast food drive-through. And we doubt Paltrow OR Lopez views an order for a double cheeseburger with extra sauce as symbolizing romance!

However, J Lo began the feud previously in 1998. And she threw shade hinting that Paltrow became famous only by dating Brad Pitt. “Tell me what [Gwyneth Paltrow has] been in? I swear to God, I don’t remember anything she was in,” mocked Lopez. And then she threw even more shade. “Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work,” said sassy J Lo.

Jennifer Lopez – Feuded With Gwyneth Paltrow In 2018

However, rumors of a feud between Gwyneth and Jennifer have resurfaced repeatedly. And some claimed that the two stars always maintained a bitter rivalry, noted Suggest. But in 2018, Paltrow and Lopez allegedly chose the same location with the same wedding guests.

And one insider even described Gwyneth as Jennifer’s “arch nemesis,” calling Lopez “green with envy” over Paltrow marrying then-fiance Brad Falchuk. At the time, Lopez reportedly felt “freaked out” and “threatened” about Gwyn’s wedding overshadowing her own.  And once again, it all reportedly circles back to the fact that Jennifer and Gwyneth both enjoyed romances with Ben Affleck.

However, the source also dished on the clash between Paltrow and Lopez over wedding locations. For instance, Gwyneth wanted “the ultimate celebrity wedding and only the best will do.” And at the time, Jennifer reportedly pushed her then-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez to stage an even bigger star-studded wedding. “Let the battle of the brides begin!” summed up the source. 

However, Paltrow won that war by marrying Brad Falchuk. And now some wonder if Lopez deliberately pushed Affleck to elope to avoid comparisons with Gwyneth’s wedding!
