Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley reunited at the ‘Vampire Diaries’ mansion for the first time in seven years and it’s like the Salvatore brothers never left. They literally gave us a slice of the past, and teased even more surprises.
They just made 2024 that much fun, and no, there was none of the blood. Just classy wine and gentlemen things.

The boys are back…
“First time back in the Salvatore house in 7 years!!!” Somerhalder captioned a snap of he and Wesley sitting in front of the iconic fireplace in the Salvatore mansion from ‘Vampire Diaries.’ They both posed with a glass of wine, which if you watched the show, you’d know it’s an important feature that helps to nail this whole throwback experience.

Somerhalder added, “Posting a bunch of videos right now in my subscriptions if you want to see what these brothers are up to.” To make it even more exciting he signed off with, “Love Damon.”
“Screaming, crying, perfect storm” doesn’t even begin to summarize the feelings this has awakened in fans. One person wrote, “No words can even express how epic it was to witness the two of you step back into the past.”
Throughout its eight season run, the show thrilled millions of fans, leading to numerous spinoffs, including, ‘The Originals’ and ‘Legacies.’
While it looks like the boys posed in front of the original Salvatore mansion where the series was shot, it sadly wasn’t the case. The original was torn down in 2015, despite countless petitions from fans.
So the reunion pic you saw was actually taken in the Mystic Mercantile, a storefront in the town square that houses a detailed recreation of the Salvatore mansion. So no they didn’t pose in front of a green screen either.
Speaking on why she recreated the mansion, Mystic Mercantile owner Angi Henderson Beszborn told TODAY.com that she wanted to preserve that sense of magic and wonder inspired by the show.
“I wanted people to feel the way I did when I went to Harry Potter World and saw Hogwarts for the first time. I want people to feel like they are part of it,” she said.
