According to a Jamie Foxx source, the actor’s days in the hospital are almost rounding up. He’s reportedly still there to have the doctors complete tests and make sure his recovery is stable. He would also be avoiding stress once he’s out of the hospital as he continues to recover.
Judging from the reaction by some of Foxx’s close friends in the industry, the illness must have caused quite a scare. But new updates on his health speak of his recovery, and that’s very positive. While it’s said that the “Robinhood” star can’t wait to get out of the hospital, one of his recent projects has just hit a snag.
Jamie Foxx’s – R-rated Comedy Movie Faces Delays
The postponement of “Strays” – an R-rated comedy featuring the voices of Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx – was announced on Monday, May 8. It was initially scheduled to open at theaters on June 9, but has now been moved back to Aug. 18.
It’s understood that the postponement had nothing to do with Foxx’s health scare and hospitalization, but was directly influenced by the writers’ strike, which has seen dozens of productions shut down, including the Late Night Shows.
It’s predicted that the halt in the production of Late Night Shows influenced Universal’s decision to push the movie back as there could have been plans to promote the movie’s release on the shows.
Universal has already begun promoting the movie with Will Ferrell attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas last month. Press screenings and junkets were also slated to start soon.
With “Strays” New Release Date, It Will Be Opening Opposite Warner Bros.’ “Blue Beetle.”
In “Strays,” Ferrell lends his voice to a Border Terrier named Reggie, who was abandoned by his owner, Doug (Will Forte). He teams up with other strays voiced by Foxx, Isla Fisher, and Randall Park to seek revenge.
Other stars involved with the project include Josh Gad, Rob Riggle, Dennis Quaid, Sofia Vergara, Jamie Demetriou, Brett Gelman and Harvey Guillen.
Jamie Foxx was hospitalized in Georgia on April 11 as he was rounding up work on his Netflix movie “Back in Action.” While the exact “medical complication” he suffered from is not made public, his recovery has been celebrated by some of his close friends in the industry, including Kevin Hart and Natasha Blasick.
