An outburst on a recent shopping trip in some ways symbolized what’s wrong with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marriage. And onlookers noticed Ben exploding at Jennifer as the two browsed at a chic jewelry store in St. Barts. Raising his hands in the air with frustration, Jennifer seemed to defy her husband, said an insider via Yahoo.

But the source noted, “It was a quick outburst. Within minutes, she had defused the situation,” added the insider. “And things calmed down.

Ben is usually happy to accommodate what his wife loves, like going out and being photographed. But there are times he hits his breaking point.”

And those times happen more increasingly. However, the insider described Jennifer and Ben as “both incredibly passionate people. They have always loved hard and fought hard.” And the couple’s first engagement couldn’t survive because of the public spotlight on their romance.

But after tying the knot in 2022, Ben and Jennifer have battled to avoid the same problems as before. And the insider shared, “The first time they were together, their relationship couldn’t handle the pressures of the spotlight, and those same issues are starting to get to them again.”

For instance, Lopez walked alone on the beach the day after their argument. And some close to Affleck and Lopez think that a trial split could occur. But that would represent Jennifer’s “worst nightmare,” said the source. 

And the 54-year-old actress called the rekindled romance and marriage “a miracle and something that neither one of us really ever thought would happen. It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”

But Ben, 51, agrees that their renewed love represents a “great story.” But he dislikes all the publicity. And Jennifer had reportedly made a vow to do more to protect their privacy. But then Lopez seemingly betrayed her husband with her new album and documentary focusing on her romance with Ben. 

And the publicity material describes it as “an intimate, reflective, sexy, funny, fantastical and highly entertaining musical and visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life. A heartfelt ode to J. Lo’s journey of self-healing and everlasting belief in fairytale endings.” But publicizing her love life with Ben represents what Jennifer promised that she wouldn’t do.

However, the source feels that Lopez can’t help herself. And while Ben craves privacy, Jennifer “likes to share things about her life. It’s how she’s stayed famous and kept her career going for 30 years now.” However, Affleck does try “to be supportive. But he tires of it quickly.”

And Ben struggles with the stress, smoking more often. And the source shared that Affleck “could use a break. He wants his next project to be something that he does alone.”

However, Jennifer may not allow that. And she wants to keep Ben close. But a fourth divorce would feel “utterly humiliating for her,” noted the source. And Lopez “truly believes Ben is the love of her life. All in all, their families have blended beautifully, and their kids have become close.”

Looking at their relationship, the insider noted that Jennifer and Ben face “a lot to figure out. But they are both trying. She will do everything she can to save this marriage.” Except, apparently, stopping her quest for publicity.
